Tenmiles has been shortlisted (only 30 companies all over India) to showcase one of our product at India’s first entrepreneurs (from the IT product development arena) event. The event is officially sponsored by Rediff and has already attracted numerous VCs, angel investors and technologists.

It’s been over 15 months since I moved to Mac (Unix-based) OS. Not too often but I still have to modify code that I wrote during my Windows days. The most common problem opening a DOS-formatted text file (PHP file in this case) is getting a ^M at the end of every line. Which looks something like this:

Tezaa - Web polls engine has been growing constantly ever since it’s launch in June 2006. Yesterday, we crossed 35,000 opinions. To share some more numbers, Tezaa now has over 1,500 members and 2,800 polls in less than 5 months. With the next update likely to be in late November 2006, here are some of the most interesting polls i’d like to leave you with.

Proto promises to be an excellent platform for young Indian entrepreneurs to showcase their tech products and ideas. As Amit Ranjan puts it
“If you are a tech startup, a venture capitalist, a wannbe tech entrepreneur or just somebody who thinks that there is more to Indian technology than BPOs & call centers, you must book your date with Proto. Proto is a first of its kind event, that will showcase the best of Indian startups under one roof. It is being held in Chennai on 21st/22nd Jan,07. The idea for Proto is inspired by Demo, the annual bash in Silicon Valley, that is fast becoming the Mecca for launching emerging technological innovations.”

Shalin Jain could very well be at the vanguard of a revival in interest in Indian internet start-ups. The 23-year old Chennai entrepreneur recently co-founded a web start-up that aims to grow through a community of users. It’s a model that sites in the US are adopting successfully.
