As a young entrepreneur it took me 5 years to learn this day called SUNDAY.
Sunday usually is my best day to do all low priority office work, spend an hour in shower only thinking what our next product could be, endlessly interview C++ developers, worry about the paper work which I still don’t want to do, hit ‘get mail’ icon 5 times every hour. I haven’t even taken out time for a hair cut since last 6 months (of course deliberately).
I learnt during my swiss trip that Sunday is a family day. It doesn’t mean stay home but it means you stay with your family. You don’t even do any homework. I liked the idea. In fact I did a lot pondering over the very idea and how it could help.
After half dozen of months I decided to give the idea a try. I decided not to go to office. Not to work from home (sort of). Just spend time with my mom and dad. I have done it successfully since last 5 sundays including this one.
Today: Early in morning I helped my mom solving sudoku. Watched Monsters Inc. with Naksh (my sister’s son) for the 12th time (maybe 13th). We all ate lunch and dinner in a single plate. I cleared the dinning table and kitchen. Read lot more about cycling, read a few articles from a business magazine, downloaded wallpaper (alps). The comfort of home is really amazing.
The experience seems rewarding. Best return for your hard work.
Sunday is a holiday.
